Free India Tax & Finance Calculators for FY 2025-26

The India Money Toolkit bundles twelve tools every Indian taxpayer needs, tied together by a personal net-worth dashboard that remembers your inputs privately in your browser: an income tax calculator that compares the new and old regimes side by side (including the ₹12 lakh zero-tax Section 87A rebate, surcharge with marginal relief and 4% cess), a CTC-to-in-hand take-home salary calculator with EPF and gratuity, a monthly money plan that turns your salary, deductions and expenses into a step-by-step savings and investment plan, a retirement planner that tells you the corpus you need and whether your savings will last, a goal planner that reverse-calculates the SIP for a child's education, wedding or home, a home loan EMI calculator, a SIP calculator with annual step-up and inflation adjustment, FD, RD and PPF maturity calculators, an insurance policy return (XIRR) analyser that reveals what your LIC or endowment plan really earns, a loan prepayment planner, and a car loan EMI calculator. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored or shared.

Frequently asked questions

Is income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free in FY 2025-26?
Yes — under the new regime, resident individuals with taxable income up to ₹12 lakh pay zero tax thanks to the enhanced Section 87A rebate of ₹60,000. With the ₹75,000 standard deduction, salaried taxpayers effectively pay no tax on salary up to ₹12.75 lakh. Marginal relief applies slightly above the limit.
Which is better: the new or the old tax regime?
It depends on your deductions. The new regime has lower slab rates but allows only the standard deduction and employer NPS. The old regime can win if you claim large deductions such as 80C, 80D, HRA and home-loan interest. This calculator computes both side by side and shows exactly how much the better regime saves you.
What are the new regime tax slabs for FY 2025-26?
0–₹4 lakh: nil; ₹4–8 lakh: 5%; ₹8–12 lakh: 10%; ₹12–16 lakh: 15%; ₹16–20 lakh: 20%; ₹20–24 lakh: 25%; above ₹24 lakh: 30%. A 4% health and education cess applies, plus surcharge on income above ₹50 lakh.
Is PPF maturity tax-free?
Yes. PPF is EEE (exempt-exempt-exempt): deposits qualify for Section 80C, and both the interest and the maturity amount are completely tax-free. The current rate is 7.1% per annum, set by the government and reviewed quarterly.
How do I calculate the real return (XIRR) of my LIC or endowment policy?
Enter your annual premium, premium-paying term, any money-back or survival payouts, and the expected maturity value in the Insurance tab. The calculator computes the XIRR — the true annualised return that accounts for the timing of every payment — and compares it with PPF, bank FDs and equity index funds. Typical endowment and money-back policies yield only 4–6% XIRR.
How much of my salary should I save and invest each month?
A good benchmark is the 50/30/20 rule: at most 50% of in-hand salary on needs, 30% on wants, and at least 20% saved and invested. Before investing, clear high-interest debt and build an emergency fund of 6 times your fixed monthly expenses. Then split monthly investments between equity index funds, PPF and debt funds based on your age and risk appetite — the Money Plan tab builds this step-by-step plan from your salary, deductions and expenses.
How much money do I need to retire in India?
A common rule of thumb is 25 to 30 times your annual expenses at the time you retire. Because inflation keeps raising your cost of living, ₹50,000 a month today can need well over ₹2 lakh a month after 30 years. The Retirement tab inflates your current expenses to your retirement date, calculates the corpus needed to sustain them for life, projects what your current savings and monthly investments will grow to, and shows any shortfall plus the extra monthly SIP needed to close it.
How do I plan a SIP for my child's education or another goal?
Enter the goal's cost in today's prices, the years left, and its inflation rate (education costs in India rise about 10% a year). The Goal Planner grosses up the cost to its future value and calculates the monthly SIP — or one-time lumpsum — needed to reach it, after accounting for what you have already saved.
